The Girl Knight part 3

III.
A Change of Heart
Abby got into her carriage. The carriage would bring her to the witch’s tower, deep in Evergreen Forest. It was there that she would be tested on her knowledge of witchcraft. They drove past many houses, all deserted. The inhabitants were in the city, enjoying the festivities. Abby wished she could watch too, but she had to do her test. The test was more important than a parade. Besides, she had seen more parades than she cared to count.
Finally, they reached the witch’s tower. Witch Claudia threw open the door. “You made it!” she cried. “Come on in and we’ll get started!” Abby smiled. She had known Witch Claudia since she was little. Claudia had always been very cheery and enthusiastic about everything. Abby had always loved how she could make anything fun and exciting.
Abby and Claudia got right to work. “First category, potions. Make me a basic love potion,” instructed Claudia. Abby performed the task perfectly. “Next category!” announced Claudia. “Spells. Perform a basic happiness spell.”  Abby opened her grimoire and whispered, “Sparkles, dance, make me shine, give me happiness sublime.” “Very good!” cried Claudia.  She was cheery as usual. But Abby noticed that as the test went on, she became more and more morose and dull. As Abby approached the completion of her test, two hours later, the light suddenly left Claudia’s eyes. “Claud, what’s wrong?” asked Abby. “Nothing Abigail, you have a test to complete,” said Claudia absently. “But Claud-” “Get to work!” yelled Claudia. Abby frowned. Claudia never raised her voice. What was going on?
Abby got her answer moments later. Claudia suddenly turned around. “So you’re done, eh?” she said. “Well yes, I suppose I should be going,” said Abby suspiciously. “You’re not going anywhere!” yelled Claudia. She zapped Abby into a corner, and prison bars magically appeared! “Claudia!” cried Abby. Claudia just laughed viciously. Abby sank to the ground in despair.

Sorry again

I am really bad at remembering things, okay? So please forgive me if I keep missing days.

Story drafts- Rosa Find's her way

Chapter 1
Hi! I’m Rosa. Well, actually, I’m Rosalyn, but everyone calls me Rosa. Honestly, I don’t care. My sister Mackenzie says Rosalyn is better for an adult. Mackenzie is kind of a know-it-all. Anyways, I’m Rosa Johnston and I’m 12 years old. I have blond hair, blue eyes and I’m sorta short and chubby. I’m not overweight, just healthy. My twin sister is Mackenzie. She’s my opposite. I think that’s confusing. I’m this born to be star and she absolutely hates the spotlight. Weird, right?
So today we’re heading off to Green Lakes Campground. Mackenzie and I just love Green Lakes. It’s absolutely amazing. There’s two lakes, and they’re always warm and refreshing. It’s the ideal camping spot. I’ve got two pink suitcases because we’re leaving for two whole weeks! Our housekeeper Mrs Roland looks after our house while we’re away. We live in a lighthouse! It has three floors. Mackenzie and I have our own bedroom on the third floor. That’s where all the bedrooms are. Downstairs is our kitchen, living room and dining room. On the first floor there’s a banquet hall, a little museum and this massive entrance hall.

Story Drafts-Mother's Day Disaster

Hi! I’m Lacey O’Conner. I happen to be a total faliure at gift giving. Seriously, if someone graded the Christmas gifts I gave last year, I would get an F-. If that exists. So you can imagine the problem I had this Mother’s Day.
My craft was a disaster. So was my card. So my dad took me to the mall. It was 11:45 so we made our way to the food court first. As we sat there, I looked around the food court for other girls my age. Next to us, there was a girl with her brother and grandmother. She had a Body Shop bag. Then I saw a girl with a baseball cap and a GAP bag. Ok, I thought, good start. Body Shop first then. “Ready for Karen too?” my dad asked. “Oh my god!’ I said. “I forgot!” “Lacey, Lacey, Lacey,” said my dad, shaking his head. Karen is my dad’s wife.  My parents are divorced. My mom hasn’t remarried, but dad did. So I live with mom half the time, and dad and Karen half the time. “Ok,” I said. “I’ll get something for Mom and something for Karen. I’ve got enough money.” So Dad had to agree.
“Body Shop first,” I directed Dad. “Mom likes their stuff.” At least, I hoped she did. I really didn’t know. “Karen likes scented soaps,” Dad reminded me. “Right,” I said. I had forgotten that. Mom says I’m very absentminded. It’s embarrassing.

New story-Deergirl

Prologue
Fallen Leaves stood at the door of the family tepee as she watched her younger brother Whistling Birch play with his friends. They were playing with the knuckle bones. Along came the older boys, heading off to hunt for elk, moose or buffalo. The other tribes also hunted for deer, but since before Fallen Leaves was born the Deer tribe had never touched deer. It was tradition. The Buffalo tribe was going off past their camp now. they always went this way to the hunt. A few boys called to Whistling Birch and his friends, “Wimpy Deer people! Only wimps don’t hunt deer!” One of the little boys, Birds-at-Dawn, started to cry. The Buffalo boys laughed even harder. “Wimps! Wimps and crybabys!” they yelled. Then, whooping with laughter, they ran of down the track. Fallen Leaves felt someone behind her. Her grandmother, Laughing Brook, put her hand on Fallen Leaves’ shoulder. “Gather the the children in the meeting tent,” she instructed. “I will be waiting.” Fallen Leaves did as she was told. When all the children had gathered in the tent, Laughing Brook began her tale. “This is the story of why we do not hunt deer. It is the story of Deergirl.”

Mackenzie's Trials part 2

Mackenzie again started to relax. Nothing happened during dinner, so Mackenzie was confident nothing embarrassing was going to happen. Then, as dessert was being served, Mr. Johnston tapped his glass. Uh-oh... thought Rosa. She saw a look of panic cross her sister’s face. “He’d never ask you to make a speech,” Rosa whispered. “I hope you’re right,” sighed Mackenzie.
Mr Johnston talked for a while about how this banquet would help with the upkeep costs  for the lighthouse, then handed the microphone to his wife. She talked about a variety of different things, then said,”I think Mackenzie would like to say a few words”. Rosa gasped. Mackenzie screamed. Just then, the power went out. In the following confusion, Mackenzie ran out of the ballroom and didn’t stop running until she reached the shore outside.
                                  Chapter 2
“Mackenzie! Mackenzie! Where are you?” came a voice. A beam of light scanned the rocks. Mackenzie saw more lights and caught a glimpse of Rosa’s face in the light. “Mackenzie? We’re so sorry! We never should have done that!” her mother’s voice called out into the darkness. Mackenzie stepped into her sister’s light. “Mackenzie!” shrieked Rosa. Mackenzie was engulfed in her family’s arms. “I’m so sorry,” repeated her mother.  Mackenzie followed her family into the lighthouse kitchen.
“I never thought I’d be so stupid,” sighed Mr. Johnston. “I should have known this would happen.”  “Don’t be so critical,” said Rosa. “ I should have tried harder to change your mind.”  “Well, think of where we might be if it hadn’t been for Mrs. Roland.” said Mackenzie. It had turned out that Mrs Roland had known what was going to happen. She had gone down to the basement and turned of the power just in time. The lighthouse family all agreed that they were in debt to her for that. “Exactly,” said her mom, setting five mugs of steaming hot cocoa on the table. “Why the extra mug?” asked Rosa. “ I was hoping Mrs. Roland might join us,” replied Mrs. Johnston. Just then, the housekeeper walked. “Care to join us?” asked Mr. Johnston. “Gladly,” said Mrs. Roland. “But girls, it’s school tomorrow. I believe you two should be getting to bed.” So the sisters finished their hot chocolate and went to bed.
“Mackenzie! Mackenzie, wake up!”  Mackenzie groaned. Rosa was shaking her shoulders. “I’m awake,” she grumbled. “Good,” said Rosa. She was already dressed. “Mom says get dressed and come down for breakfast.” She sauntered of to the kitchen. Mackenzie dressed and followed.

The Girl Knight-part 2

II.
Testing, Testing
At Evergreen Castle, as the parade went through the streets, Princess Abigail was hard at work. She was being tested on her potions later that day. Abby had always wanted to be a witch, like her late aunt, Marina. “Are you all ready, Your Highness?” asked her governess.  “I think so,” said Abby. “I’ve reviewed everything I’m to be tested on. Is the witch Claudia here already?” “Yes, Your Highness. Should I tell them to announce you now?” asked Miss Ellen, the governess. “Yes, thank you Ellen. Tell them I shall be down in a second,” Abby replied. “Yes, Your Highness,” said Miss Ellen.
Abby dressed and walked down to the Great Hall. “Her Royal Highness, the Crown Princess Abigail Grace Regina!” cried a page. Abby took her seat. Her parents walked in next. “Her Majesty Queen Alexandra Hilary Ginova!” called the page. “His Supreme Majesty, King Bryan George Henry V, king of Evergreen!” The King and Queen took their seats. The page then announced their guest. “The Witch Claudia of Evergreen Forest!” he called.  The witch walked in, curtsied to the monarchs, and came to stand beside Abby. In came the Royal Aid. “Your Royal Highness, your testing begins!” he announced. “Please rise!” Abby rose from her seat. “Your Royal Highness,” said the Royal Aid. “Do you agree to spend the next 8 years of your life devoted to the study of magic?” “I do,” said Abby, as confidently as she could. “Do you promise to never back out on this study?” “I do,” said Abby again. “Then your testing has begun!” cried the Aid.

Advice for Sunday

Hi fellow aspiring authors! Today I'm going to tell you about getting published. Three things to think about:

1. What type of book are you writing?
2. Who is your audience? (people who will read your book)
3. How long is your book?

Think about that while you're looking for a publisher. Hope that helps!

Advice for Saturday

Hi everyone! Today it's time for me to give you some advice.  So I'm going to tell you not to give up. Because giving up is about the worst thing you can do. Don't give up on a story, put it aside until you get another idea. Make sure that you set aside some time to write. Write in a quiet space. I have a schedule that I (try to) follow. So that's my advice to you. 1, Never give up and 2, Set aside a time and place to write.

Story Drafts-the Brewster Bunch

When Elizabeth Eleanora Brewster’s city cousins came over, they always said,”You country bumpkins must be SOO bored!”  And she would reply,”With this many siblings, you never get bored!”
Elizabeth Eleanora was the third child of Sarah and James Brewster. Before her came Samuel Robert and Samantha Margaret. After her came Floreen Flora, Maria Martha, James Christian and Joyce Willow. Sarah was also pregnant. Their neighbors called the seven “The Brewster Bunch”. Their closest neighbors lived five miles away.
Mama’s parents, Grandma and Grandpa Wyte, lived with them. The little house Papa built nearly spilt over with them around. The house was bursting at the seams at Christmas. Right now, Aunt Zara, Lily and Anna were staying with them while Uncle Allen built them a house.
Elizabeth could hear Joyce and Anna in the other room. “Come play Nora!” called Maria from the room she shared with Joyce and Flora. Elizabeth ran to join her and James.
Flora in sitting room tried to keep her eyes from wandering to the window. She wanted to go outside but Mama wouldn’t let her until her sampler was finished. The intricate floral pattern that went with her sampler took longer than the other’s patterns had. She sighed, then forced her eyes from the window and kept working.

Samantha, called Molly by her siblings, shared a room with Nora. Lily slept with them right now. Samuel, or Sam, slept with James next door. Maria, Flora and Joyce, or Joy as they called her, slept with Anna in the biggest room. Next to their room was Mama and Papa’s room on one side and Grandma and Grandpa’s room on the other. “Molly! Anna took Jenny!” cried Joy from her room. Molly dashed over. “Anna, that’s Joy’s dolly. Let her have it.” scolded Molly. “No!” said Anna, pouting. “Anna, I’m going to count to ten,” said Nora. “One, two,...” Anna quickly handed over Jenny. “Thank you,” said Joy. “Good manners!” said Molly. Joy beamed while Anna pouted. “Joy, do you have a dolly that Anna could play with?” asked Molly. “She could use  Maria’s if Maria would let her,” said Joy after thinking a moment. “Go ahead Anna,” called Maria from where she was playing with James and Nora. “Yay!” cried Anna as she reached for Maria’s doll, Bella.

Please tell me if I should continue this story!

Ok

Okay now I'm up to date! :-D

Mackenzie's Trials

12 year-old Rosa Johnston bounced down the stairs, chattering as she went. She was bubbling over with excitement. Her shy sister Mackenzie, also 12, listened to her uncontrollable chatter, nodding and responding occasionally with “Yes”, “No” or “Uh-huh”. She shifted her pink silk dress up a bit. Her mother, Mrs Johnston, hadn’t taken her and Rosa when she went for the dresses and Mackenzie’s was a bit too wide. Rosa’s blue silk fit her perfectly. Short and chubby Rosa fit into pretty much everything. Unlike Mackenzie, who had the form of a leaf, slender and tall. “And of course we get to greet the guests!” Rosa’s voice cut into her thoughts. “We what?” asked Mackenzie, hoping she had heard wrong. “Greet the guests!” cried Rosa. “The mayor could be there, or a local author, or a singer, or...” Rosa droned on and on. But Mackenzie hardly heard a word she said. Not this, she thought. Oh please, please not this.
Mackenzie ran down the stairs, stopping her sister at the bottom. “What do you mean, “we”?” Rosa blinked. It took her a few moments to realize that in her excitement she had frightened her sister with a piece of news. “You heard right”, she said. All the excitement had drained from her voice. “I tried to reason with Dad, but he insisted. He was going to tell you himself, but...” Rosa broke of. Her sister’s face showed she was horrified. “How could he!” Mackenzie cried, burying her face in her hands. “Why didn’t Mum stop him?” “She...sort of agreed with him.” admitted Rosa. Rosa took her sister’s hand. “You’ll be fine,” she said, trying to ease her sister’s worries. “Mum and Dad wouldn’t do this if it wouldn’t help you.” “I guess you’re right.” sighed Mackenzie. “But will you hold my hand?”
The introductions were half over. Mackenzie was starting to relax. “That wasn’t so hard,” she admitted to Rosa. “And the introductions are pretty much over!” said Rosa. Just then, the housekeeper, Mrs Roland, came up to them. “Oh, there you are girls. The banquet is about to begin!” “Oh no!” cried Mackenzie. “It’s just food.” said Rosa.
The girls followed Mrs Roland up the stairs and into the lighthouse banquet hall. The girls sat in between their parents at the four-seat head of the table.

The Girl Knight-part 1

Yah I know it's Thursday but I'm gonna start anyways.

I.
The Story Begins...
Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Evergreen, there lived a young peasant girl named Sasha. Sasha lived with her mother Clarice on a small farm on the outskirts of the capital city, Jeodan.  Sasha helped her mother with their farm everyday. She weeded, she watered, she sowed, she harvested. Sometimes, she went to school. As you might expect from a girl of 12, Sasha was not happy with her peasant life. She wished for something less predictable. Something more...adventurous.
On May 19th, 1451, in Evergreen, on a planet far from earth, Sasha and Clarice drove their carriage into the city of Jeodan. May 19th was Princess Abigail’s birthday. Today she was turning 14. King Bryan was having a big celebration in the city. There was to be   parade, and many performances.  Sasha had never seen a parade before. She was so excited!  “Mother, this is so amazing!” said Sasha, as the floats rolled by. “You’ll find the fireworks so much better,” replied Clarice.

Later that day, Sasha and her friends went to the fireworks.  “This is amazing!” cried Sasha. Her friends laughed. “This is nothing,” said her friend Megan. “You should see it at New Year,” said Anna. “Or All Hallow’s Eve,” agreed Gina. Sasha was disappointed.  She had really thought that these fireworks were the best. Sasha never got to see the New Year’s fireworks or All Hallow’s Eve fireworks. She was always too busy in the day, helping her mother with the farm, to go out at night. Sasha knew she was lucky to be out tonight. Tomorrow was going to be another very busy day.
